Pre-Game Routine Builder

A routine gives you a familiar sequence to return to. Keep your physical warm-up and choose a small mental practice that fits around it. You can still act usefully while feeling nervous.

An example to adapt

With two minutes before warm-up: pause comfortably for 30 seconds, choose your first job for 30 seconds, rehearse your cue for 30 seconds, then return to the physical warm-up for 30 seconds. If the start is rushed, use just the cue and first action.

  1. Settle into a comfortable breath. No forced breath-holding; skip this step if uncomfortable.
  2. Name one task you can influence. Let the final score stay outside this plan.
  3. Picture starting that action once, then say your cue in your own words.
  4. Begin your normal warm-up. After practice, notice one thing to keep or adjust.

Practise before a regular session first. If the event starts late, repeat only the useful parts. Do not restart the whole sequence because it was interrupted.
